Ukrainian Police Adopts Our VR Treadmill for Smart City Security System Building
In recent years, the adoption of virtual reality-interactive technologies has gradually spread across the world, and virtual reality technology has found application in dozens of new fields. With that revolution, the popularization of Virtual Reality immersive walking equipment follows too. Recently, the police department of Ladyzhyn, a city in Ukraine, started building a smart city security system which aims to create a more responsive and proactive approach to community security with the adoption of a VR treadmill of our design - the original KAT Walk C.

Our VR treadmill is designed to simulate natural walking in virtual scenarios, bringing them closer in human perception to a real-world experience. This allows police officers to train immersively in a variety of situations without the need for expensive and potentially dangerous physical simulations. As shown in the above picture, a policeman puts on a virtual reality headset. He uses our VR Treadmill to achieve infinite and unlimited walking in 360 degrees from a single spot in the office.
This kind of VR usage in law enforcement is a rapidly growing trend that can potentially transform the way policing is done. It enables officers to hone their skills and stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and tactics, giving them a significant advantage when responding to emergencies. By incorporating VR treadmills into training, agencies can simulate complex situations that require walking, running, or maneuvering—helping officers develop spatial awareness and tactical movement skills in a safe, controlled setting.
Major law enforcement agencies like the LAPD, NYPD, and LSU NCBRT/ACE have adopted VR treadmill-based training. Using 360-degree treadmills, full-body haptic suits, and real-time tracking, officers can run law enforcement drills in realistic virtual settings. Adjustable difficulty and post-training analysis further enhance skill development, making VR simulation an effective and repeatable training method.
Modern VR training platforms offer a range of features that make them especially effective for law enforcement applications. These systems are built with advanced treadmill sensors and motion-sensing technology, allowing for natural movement and locomotion within virtual environments. High-quality VR headsets and custom VR software create immersive, realistic scenarios, while features like dynamic physical behavior, shooter avatars, and verbal communication add complexity to training exercises. Security is also a priority, with many platforms designed to operate securely without unnecessary data transfer. The ability to gather actionable data during each session supports ongoing simulation refinement, ensuring that training remains relevant and effective. As a result, VR training solutions provide a safe, repeatable platform for officers to practice decision-making, improve tactics, and adapt to new challenges in a controlled yet realistic setting.
Overall, we believe that the adoption of our VR treadmill in Ladyzhyn is just the beginning. As technology continues to evolve, we can expect to see new and innovative ways of utilizing it to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of law enforcement agencies. We are thrilled to be at the forefront of this movement, and we look forward to continuing to innovate and improve our technology to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
